2. Information We Collect
CAST MEE may collect and store the following information:
- account details, including name, email address, phone number, account type and login status;
- artist profile information, including stage name, date of birth, location, nationality, category, disciplines, skills, availability, biography, CV, photos, videos, showreel links and social links;
- company profile information, including company name, contact name, business email, phone number, website, location, company information, verification details, profile photo and production images;
- casting information, including casting title, production name, categories, role types, location, contract dates, audition dates, deadlines, pay information, requirements and submission instructions;
- application information, including applications, shortlist status, withdrawn applications and proposal status;
- in-app messages and proposal conversations;
- moderation reports, support requests, responses and safety actions;
- subscription status and purchase entitlement information from Apple;
- push notification tokens and notification event information;
- technical information needed to keep the app secure and working, such as account identifiers, timestamps and app activity connected to app functionality.
CAST MEE does not intentionally collect payment card details. Payments and subscriptions are handled by Apple through the App Store.
3. How We Use Information
CAST MEE uses information to:
- create and manage artist, company and moderator accounts;
- show artist profiles to approved companies and casting teams;
- show casting opportunities to artists;
- allow artists to apply for castings;
- allow companies to review applicants and shortlist artists;
- enable matched proposal messaging where subscriptions and privacy settings allow it;
- verify company accounts and moderate platform activity;
- respond to support, safety and data requests;
- send app notifications about messages, applications, shortlist updates, moderation replies and account activity;
- protect the platform from fraud, misuse, impersonation and unsafe content;
- meet legal, regulatory, App Store and security requirements.
4. Legal Basis
Where UK GDPR or similar privacy laws apply, CAST MEE may process personal data because:
- it is needed to provide the app service requested by the user;
- it is needed for legitimate platform safety, moderation, support and fraud-prevention interests;
- it is needed to comply with legal obligations;
- the user has provided information or consent through the app.
5. Sharing Information
CAST MEE may show relevant profile, casting and application information inside the app:
- artist profile information may be visible to companies using talent search, applicant review and proposal workflows;
- company profile and casting information may be visible to artists;
- application and message information may be visible to the relevant artist and company;
- moderation and support information may be visible to CAST MEE moderators or support staff.
CAST MEE may also use trusted service providers to run the app, including hosting, database, email, storage, push notification and App Store payment services.
CAST MEE does not sell personal data.
6. User Choices
Users can:
- edit profile and contact information in app settings;
- control some privacy settings, such as in-app messaging and public media watermarking;
- delete their account from app settings;
- request a copy of their account data by emailing support@castmee.uk from their registered email address;
- contact CAST MEE about privacy, moderation or support issues.
7. Data Copy Requests
To request a copy of account data, email support@castmee.uk with the subject: CAST MEE data copy request.
For security, CAST MEE may ask the requester to verify that they control the account before releasing account data.
8. Account Deletion
Users can request account deletion in the app. Deletion removes account access and account data where deletion is legally and technically possible.
Some information may be retained where required for legal, safety, fraud-prevention, dispute, accounting or moderation reasons.
9. Data Retention
CAST MEE keeps account information while the account is active and for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain safety records and enforce platform rules.
10. Security
CAST MEE uses technical and organisational measures intended to protect account data, including account authentication, role-based database access, moderation controls and server-side secrets for sensitive backend keys.
No online service can guarantee complete security.
11. Children
CAST MEE is intended for professional casting and performer opportunities. If age restrictions or parental consent requirements apply in a region, users must follow those requirements.
12. Changes
CAST MEE may update this Privacy Policy as the app develops. The latest version will be published on this page.
